Kenneth Elmer Gibboney
Kenneth Gibboney married Betty Jean Lester on August 6th, 1946 in Highland Park, IL. The couple had one son, Philip Michael and resided in Lewistown, IL.
Kenny also served in the US Army during WWII. He was commissioned to an anti-aircraft position serving in the Philippines. |
Before enlisting in the Army, Kenneth briefly worked as a Miner after highschool. It is likely that he worked at the same mine his father Perl did. After his serving in WWII and being honorably discharged from the US Army, Kenneth became an Illinois State Trooper. He was highly regarded in his position and, so much so, he ran for Fulton County Illinois Sheriff in the early 1980's, but conceded to his opponent during the election.
An Untimely Death
Unfortunately, shortly after his retirement, Kenneth past away due to complications from a cancerous brain tumor. He was survived by his wife Betty Jean, son Philip, and three grandchildren: Jennifer, Elizabeth and Mark.
