John Alfred Lester
John Alfred Lester was the only son to George and Esther Lester.
He married Anna Beatrice Clark on October 12, 1884. The couple had 11 children.
John followed in his father's footsteps and also became a carpenter by trade. He was the contractor for the Waterford Township School which is still standing near the Dickson Mounds State Museum. According to the 1900 Census, John also worked in the stables. Its possible that carpentry didn't always have consistent work available. In later years, he owned the Lester Restaurant in Lewistown.
John died June 25, 1922. His wife Anna died April 14, 1937. Both are buried Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewiston, IL.
